               Faculty Instructions for Submitting a SuperUROP Project (please change "eecs" to your dept where appropriate!)

Students:

At this time the EECS Department has confirmed that they will participate in the SuperUROP Program and provide funding to most of their students working with EECS faculty. If you are choosing a supervisor in another department, it would be good to have a co-supervisor on the EECS faculty, to facilitate your eligibility for funding. EECS will also fund a limited number of CS+HASS projects.

The Mechanical Engineering Department will be participating in SuperUROP 2023-2024 and will fund a small number of SuperUROP students.

The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department will be participating in SuperUROP 2023-2024 and will fund a small number of SuperUROP students.

The AeroAstro Department is participating in the SuperUROP Program and will support a limited number of AeroAstro SuperUROP students.

The Chemical Engineering Department is participating in the SuperUROP Program and will support a limited number of Chemical Engineering SuperUROP students.

In addition to EECS, MechE, CEE, AeroAstro, ChemE we expect that the following department may participate in SuperUROP 2023-2024, but this has not been confirmed yet:

• Nuclear Science and Engineering

SuperUROP(e) The potential for pursuing a SuperUROP with an entrepreneurship option will be available during 2023-2024. More information is here.

The MIT option is for students who are not in the listed departments. In this case, it is unlikely that there will be departmental SuperUROP funding. There is possibly funding from your supervisor (at a rate you negotiate with your supervisor) or from the UROP office (at below the SuperUROP rate) or you can earn credit for the research component.
